Competitive And Recreational Disabled Skiers

Competitive And Recreational Disabled Skiers (C.A.R.D.S.)

Mission Statement:

To create, organize, and fund water ski programs and events for  people with disabilities from around the world.

Our story began 35 years ago in the small town of Elk Grove, California, where C.A.R.D.S. hosted its first adaptive learn to ski clinic at Shortline Lake. Since then we've hosted over 100 learn to ski days (including Veteran ski days), hosted the 2005 and 2012 Disabled National Water Ski Championships, hosted the 2015 IWWF World Disabled Water Ski Championships and over 30 regional events. We supply all the equipment, instructors, boats and volunteers free of charge to the athletes.

The sheer excitement, nervousness, and apprehensiveness of our new athletes is supplanted by smiles, confidence, and pride after they experience the joy of water skiing for the first time. Witnessing these transformations motivates us to continue our efforts to serve our athletes with disabilities.

If you're as amazed and inspired as we are and would like to support our organization by financial assistance or in-kind donations please contact us and be part of a team that loves making a difference in the world.  We're also seeking for sponsors for this Worlds event.  Please check out our Sponsorship page to see how you, and/or your company can help. (As a member of USA Water Ski and Wake Sports, Inc, we're recognized as a charitable non profit by the IRS.  Our tax exempt ID is #59-0841458

We are truly blessed and look forward to working with you!

Gratefully,

Matthew Oberholtz (President)

Geneva Brett (Vice President/Treasurer)
