The world's best water ski athletes with physical disabilities meet every other year to determine the best on the planet, individual and country. There is no funding from any country or organization to host this expensive competition. Worlds is funded by sponsorships and donations. We appreciate (and need) your help and support. Thanks!
C.A.R.D.S. (Competitive and Recreational Disabled Skiers), endorsed by USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, and USA Adaptive Water Ski & Wake Sports, is thrilled to host the 15th IWWF World Disabled Water Ski Championships. Competition dates are September 14th to 17th.
Athletes with physical disabilities from an anticipated 11 countries will converge in California's Great Central Valley to compete in the traditional three events of slalom, tricks, and jumping.
There are 3 Divisions and multiple Categories within each division in adaptive/disabled water skiing.
1. Standing - 6 categories; arm disabilities, leg amputations, arm & leg impairment
2. Vison Impaired - 2 categories; some light perception, no light perception
3. Seated - 5 categories; Multiple plegics and those with double leg amputation
Standing and vision impaired divisions use able bodied equipment. Those with arm impairment may use a sling or other assistive device.
